Position Title: Resident Associate
Salary Range: $13.00/hour
Status: Part Time, Non-exempt, 16 – 24 hours a week
Work Site:  Friendship Mission’s Men’s Shelter
Schedule: Several shifts available – Can include early mornings, weekends, late nights, and overnight shifts

JOB SUMMARY: The Resident Associate is responsible for routine shelter operations and resident activities, meeting the identified needs of the residents. The Resident Associate assists in providing a safe and secure environment by developing a rapport with the residents, observing behavior, and encouraging residents to engage in activities and interactions that foster character building and responsibility to move them toward reaching their individual goals. The Resident Associate is an advocate for the residents, promoting and modeling a stable life and relating skills, good judgment, problem-solving, and promotes involvement in the resident’s individualized life stabilization plan within his or her potential. The Resident Associate understands the Friendship Mission concept that life stabilization first is necessary for one to obtain his or her own home so that his or her experience with homelessness less likely to reoccur.
