Heart the Homeless: Plan Your Strategy

It’s been a tough year and many of us still have a shopping list to complete. Don’t let the stress weigh you down. I know a way for you to complete your list, have a little fun, and give to help those in need, all while wearing your fuzzy socks. And no, you will not have to worry about shipping delays.

THE EVENT
Friendship Mission’s Board of Directors is hosting an online auction called Heart the Homeless as its annual fundraiser. The auction’s bidding will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd and will end at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6th. The site is now live for you to preview the treasure trove of items that have been donated by local businesses and individuals to support a small set of homeless shelters and public soup kitchen that has served the Montgomery area for 25 years.

SMALL but MIGHTY

As small as Friendship Mission is, we manage to provide shelter to more than 300 people and serve more than 40,000 soup kitchen meals every year. Many of our shelter residents have loved ones within driving distance, but they aren’t welcomed in that home. Some can’t recall the last time they saw a relative, or they don’t want to remember. For others we may never know their story, but we know that they need a place to lay their head and a decent meal.

Plan your strategy, there are hot-ticket items available and more to be posted before the bidding begins. Friendship Mission, Inc. demonstrates love in action by providing food and shelter to men, women, and children experiencing hunger and homelessness in the Montgomery area. Your support is integral for us to meet our mission to help people stabilize their life and live independently within their potential. Our residents and soup kitchen guests are the least, the last, and the lost; they do not have life’s basic needs of food and shelter.
